Norbert James Jacobs Sr.

Jacobs, Norbert James Sr. Bay City, Michigan Mr. Jacobs passed away Sunday October 18, 2009 at Bay Special Care Hospital. Age 86 years. He was born December 4, 1922 in Hampton Township and has resided in this area all of his life. He was a member of Peoples Baptist Church. Norbert was a retired contractor, he served with the 8th Army Air Force in the European Theater during WWII, he was life member of National Home in Eaton Rapids, VFW Post 485, Am Vets Post 22 and the American Legion Post 18. Norbert is survived by his children; Norbert J. Jacobs Jr. and Susann Sullivan of Winterhaven , Florida, Kenneth and Linda Confer of Davison, Patricia Jane of Esexville and Margaret and Donald Kerr of Bay City, several grandchildren and great grandchildren which he loved a great deal. He was predeceased by his wife the former Dorothy Morse whom he married on August 27, 1960, one son-in-law; Isaac four brothers; Lawrence, Clarence, Frank and Alfons and three sisters; Josephine Verbeck, Agnes Kukla and Ceelia Norlock. Funeral Services will take place Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc.. Officiating will be Rev. Daniel R. Hester under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of the service. Members of the Am Vets Post 22 will meet at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. for the White Clover Service followed by a Memorial Service conducted by the American Legion Post 18.
