Norman "Sug" Riley

"Sug" was born January 30, 1955 in Lufkin, the son of Barbara Brock Durham and the late Douglas Durham, and passed away May 28, 2014 in a local hospital. He graduated from Lufkin High School with a Special Ed diploma. He worked for many years at the Lufkin Work Shop doing lawn work, sorting rivets and odd jobs, doing a little bit of everything. He loved Elvis Presley music and attended Sunday School faithfully at Lufkin's First Baptist Church. He is survived by mother, Barbara Durham; sister, Darlene Bickley and husband, Robert, all of Lufkin; sister, Charla Wyatt and husband, Chris of Wichita Falls; special cousin, Dwana Guidry of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Douglas Durham. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Castle Pines Nursing Home. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with "Sug's" Sunday School teacher, Art Nelson officiating. There will be no procession. Interment will follow in Thompson Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered at www.gipsonfuneralhome.com.
