I worked with Cory when I was a service writer at Hall GMC. He was a very quiet young man, but you could always count on him to do what needed to be done. He will be truly missed.

I know Our Angels are watching over us now. I'm sure Archie greeted him with a big smile and a hand shake or hug. They will be watching over us.
You are in my thoughts and prayers everyday.

Regina, I am so sorry for your loss of Cory, I didn't personally know him, but felt like I did through our conversations about him going to the fire academy, and getting on in Kilgore. I can't even imagine what you must be going through, but I am sure that you will get through it with christ. God Bless you.

Regina & Caitlin,
Jordan & I have cried for you both and your family, and then we smiled remembering Cory always smiling when the girls were little and were in dance and he was always there with his mom, making us laugh. We lost Keith's daughter several years ago at 18 and I knew then like I know now God needs them in Heaven. You are in our thoughts and prayers,

Firefighter's Prayer
When I am called to duty, God,
Whenever flames may rage
Give me strength to save a life
Whatever be its age.
Help me embrace a little child
Before it is too late
Or save an older person from
The horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert
And hear the weakest shout
And quickly and efficiently
Put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling
To give the best in me
To guard my friend and neighbor
And protect his property.
And if according to Your will
While on duty I must answer death's call
Bless with Your protecting hand
My family one and all.
GOD BLESS YOU BROTHER AND WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU AND YOUR FAMILY .... TO THE BRAVEST LOVED ONES SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS

Luke, Regina, Jade & Caitlin, Please know that you are in our thoughts and our prayers. No words anyone can speak now can fill the void you will feel for a while. When we lose a loved one, everyone wants to make you feel better by offering all kinds of thoughts and not really knowing how to deliver those thoughts to where they will make you feel comfortable, but do know this, trust in God and trust that he knows what is best for all of us. He told us that he would not give us more that what we can bear to handle, even though sometimes we question that, but he is taking care of us as well as those that have passed on before us. We are all praying for Him to take care of you all, because He is already taking care of Cory and he is is in the best place possible. Jamie & I are deeply saddened for your loss and hope that God gives you the strength to get you through this time of need. God bless you all.

Luke, Regina & Family, We are so saddened by the loss of Cory. Somehow God wraps us in his arms and takes care of us thru these trying times. God has taken care of my family thru the years of losing my parents, my brother, and my nephew, and I am certain that God will do the same with your family. We are close by, so if you should need anything, please feel free to let us know. Roger & I did not know Cory that well, but our boys did, as Chase and Cory took several fire tests together. We know he was a wonderful son, as he was raised by such good parents. He will surely be missed by all, but he is in a much better place than any of us could ever imagine. We are praying for your family.
Much Love from your neighbors,
The West Family-Roger, Rosa, Chase & Drew

Our hearts are sadden with this news. Corey and my son, Jeff Hudnall, started kindergarten together and graduated together in Van. We spent many hours on the baseball fields with Corey and his wonderful family. Our blessed thoughts go out to them all and God has certainly chosen a wonderful Angel to call home.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I REMEMBER WHEN COREY WAS YOUNG. HE AND MY SON WERE PRETTY GOOD BUDDIES. MY HUSBAND COACHED THEM IN LITTLE LEAGUE, SO THEY SPENT MOST OF THEIR SUMMERS TOGETHER. THIS ONE SATURDAY THEY WERE IN A TOURNAMENT. WE HAD PLAYED THAT MORNING AND IT WAS GOING TO BE 3 OR 4 HOURS BEFORE THEY PLAYED ANOTHER GAME SO WE TOOK THE BOYS OUT TO OUR HOUSE SO THEY COULD RELAX A BIT. WE HAD TOLD THEM NOT TO GO OUT AND GET HOT AND TIRED. WELL A LITTLE TIME HAD PASSED AND NEXT THING WE KNOW WE HEAR COREY SCREAMING FOR MY HUSBAND. MY HUSBAND RUNS OUTSIDE AND SEES COREY RUNNING TO THE HOUSE. MY HUSBAND ASKS HIM WHATS WRONG AND ALL HE COULD DO WAS POINT TOWARD THE WOODED AREA BEHIND THE HOUSE. THEN HEAR COMES OUR SON HOLDING HIS HEAD, BLEEDING. THEY HAD WENT EXPLORING AND OUR SON HAD FELL ON SOMETHING SHARP AND CUT HIS HEAD. IT WASNT SERIOUS, IT JUST LOOKED LIKE IT...COREY WAS SO CONCERNED ABOUT OUR SON THAT DAY. THAT IS HOW COREY WAS , HE WAS ALWAYS CONCERNED ABOUT OTHERS AND LOVED HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS. WE WILL MISS HIM TERRIBLY...
