Ora Piper Obituary
1929-2021
Ora Lean Williams Piper, of Houston, Texas, transitioned on July 19, 2021. She was preceded in death by husband, Elwood Piper, and her two children Rev. Calvin Ralph Cline, IV, and Patricia Cline Malveaux-Keeling. She also joins her father Sam Williams, mother Emma Lee Williams James and stepfather Herman James, sister Catherine Evans, and brother Dr. Sam Williams, Jr. above the Veil.
A devoted mother to Kathlean Diane Cline, she is also survived by her grandchildren, Joseph A. Malveaux III, Chemberli Cline Smith (Paris), Cecily Cline Walton (Jonathan), Yaasmeen S. Spencer (Richard), and Gyasi Cline-Heard. She also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren along with a host of relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
A memorial service will be held at a later date and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church and the Alzheimer's Association. To read the full obituary or leave a condolence for the family, please visit Carl Barnes Funeral Home.

Mrs. Piper was my school principal at Turner Elementary. It is amazing how i remember her so vividly after all of these years. She was so tall and elegant and graceful. I still remember her signature on my report card. I could not tell you the name of any other principal that i had at any of the schools i attended, so that lets you know what an impact she had. Rest in Power Mrs. Piper.

I will always cherish the memories of my Aunt driving us to and from school from the West End to 3rd ward to go to school as kids. We had fun and at times we had issues (as do most siblings) but her faithfulness taught us what it meant to be true & faithful to your word & duty. Many students benefited from her wisdom and knowledge. Grateful to God for her longevity. Also appreciative to Diane, my cousin, for her faithfulness in taking care of Aunty in her golden years.
