Patricia Beckwith Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 30, 2008.
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one, I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when my life is done ... Our hearts were saddened on Sept. 28, 2008, with the passing of our loving wife, mother and grandmother Patricia Beckwith, 64, of Windham (RR 2, Rome, Pa.).

Pat was born on Oct. 22, 1943, in Sayre, Pa., a daughter of Elwyn "Butch" and the late Millie Brainard.

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Pat treasured the time spent with her family. Pat was family oriented. She spent her early years raising a large family. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening, music and baking.

In her later years, she enjoyed her grandchildren. Some of her favorite pastimes were watching and playing games with her family.

In addition to her father, Elwyn "Butch" Brainard of Windham, Pat is survived by: her husband of 49 years, Brian Beckwith of Windham; her daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Rob Stoll of Rome, Shawn and Pat O'Connor of Windham, Pa., and Amanda and Kevin Rubert of Towanda, Pa.; her sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Peggy Beckwith of Monroeton, Pa., Ed Beckwith of Rome, Rick and Lori Beckwith of Gloucester, Va., John and Tammy Beckwith of North Orwell, Pa.; her grandchildren Tony Stoll, Isaac Stoll, Dr.'s Brandon & Sara O'Connor, Annie O'Connor, Sara Parsons, Brent Beckwith, Cole Beckwith, Nicholas Rubert, Adam Rubert, Ben Rubert, Brad Seliga, Dawn Seliga, Dustin Beckwith, Kyla Beckwith and Ashlynn Beckwith; her sisters and brothers-in-law Earlene and Chester Merrill of Windham, Suzie and Don Brown of Orwell, Pa., Cindy and Frank Robbins of Waverly, N.Y., Karen Brainard of Williamsport, Pa.; a brother and sister-in-law Sam and Darcy Brainard; her mother-in-law Marion Beckwith of Athens, Pa.; her brothers-in-law Robert (Emma) Beckwith of Sayre, Pa., Hugh (Delores) Beckwith of Rome, Mike (June) Beckwith of Erie, Colo. and Phil (Patty) Beckwith of Rome; and sister-in-law Mary (Elmer) Folk of Fort Wayne, Ind. Several nieces, nephews, and their families also survive, along with her cats Skeezkit and Bobby.

Pat was predeceased by her mother Millie Brainard, a brother Gary Brainard, her father-in-law Glenn Beckwith, and a niece Colleen Brainard.

A time of remembering the special gift Pat was to all of us will be held at noon on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 South Main St., Nichols, N.Y., with Pastor Helen M. Learn officiating.

Interment with prayers of committal will follow in the Valley Home Cemetery. A period of visitation and sharing memories will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral chapel.

Memories and condolences for Pat's family may also be shared by visiting our Web site at www.sutfinfuneralchapel.com.

For those who wish, memorial contributions may be directed to the Valley Home Cemetery, c/o Mrs. Carol Jacobs, RR 2, Box 164, Rome, Pa. 18837, in loving memory of Patricia Beckwith.

Amanda and whole Beckwith family:
I was sorry to see your mother died and wanted to let you know I was thinking about you. I also lost my mom and mother in law in 2008. Our mothers can never be replaced but have faith that they are in our hearts forever , and I believe they are never too far from us especially when we need them. May God Bless you and your whole family. Take care. Jessalyn also send her thoughts to you at this time. We miss seeing you.
