Funeral services for Patricia L. Claussen age 80 formerly of Clearwater, Ne was at 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater with Pastor Bruce Phillips, Officiating. Music was provided by Carol Thiele. Burial was in the Clearwater Cemetery. Pallbearers were Blake Hrdlicka, Cody Claussen, Mike Swartz, Lauren Thompson, Tom Thiele, Kreg Mosel, and Tim Hood. Visitation was Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater. Pat passed away Monday, October 27, 2014 at Good Samaritan Society in Atkinson, NE. Arrangements are being conducted by Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater. Patricia Lou Claussen was born on September 1, 1934 at Carroll, NE to Glenn and Agnes (Syvanus) Swartz. She attended school in Pilger, NE. Pat worked at the hospital and nursing home in West Point, NE as a nurses aid. On June 14, 1955 she was united in marriage to Merold Claussen in Carroll (they celebrated 59 years of marriage). In 1966 they settled at the Gerald Baker Farm near Clearwater. In 1969, Patricia and Merold adopted 3 brothers, Jeffery, Kevin, and Jerry; where they made their home in Neligh, Ne. After moving to Clearwater she worked at many odd jobs such as local cafes and on the family farm. She was an active member of the Clearwater Legion Auxiliary. Patricia was a very caring lady who always loved to visit. If she wasn't talking she was baking or doing crossword puzzles. She loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. She would always look forward to overnight slumber parties with her great grandson Blake. Patricia and Merold enjoyed their evening drives out visiting friends and family. Pat is survived by her husband, Merold of Butte, NE and sons: Jeffery (Denise) Claussen of Butte, NE, Kevin Claussen of O'Neill, NE, and Jerry Claussen of Norfolk, NE. Five Grandchildren: Cody, Jeri, Bobbi, Sara, and Samantha. 10 great grandchildren: Harleigh, Alizae, Broghan, Ethan, Blake, Brittyn, Lilyana, Coylane, Kyelynn, and Haydenn. Pat is preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Glenn Jr., John, Garylee. Sisters: Betty and Valetta. Mother and father-in-law and many sister and brother-in-laws.
