Patricia Donahue-Rogers Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 6, 2011.
PATRICIA DONAHUE-ROGERS
West Des Moines, Iowa

Patricia Donahue-Rogers, 71, passed away from this life on January 4, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2010 at Valley Evangelical Free Church, 4343 Fuller Rd. West Des Moines. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at McLaren's Chapel, 801-19th Street, West Des Moines.
Patricia was born December 19, 1939 to Frank and Dorothy Donahue in West Des Moines. She graduated from Valley High School in 1957. Shortly after she married William Rogers and to this union seven children were born. Pat enjoyed many of the wonderful gifts this life had given her. She was very sociable and loved to experience new things. These last few years she was able to travel to many different places. Her personality was very special and she had many rare qualities that made her stand apart from the rest. She was a strong, independent and hardworking woman and raised her children to be the same. Patricia loved making memories, watching Dr. Oz, babies and poinsettias, but her greatest pride and joy was being with and talking about her family.
Patricia is survived by her sisters, Joann (Derald) Burgess of Omaha and Dorothy Campbell of Clive; brother, Michael Donahue of Arizona; her children, Mark (Julie) Rogers of Urbandale, Arminda Rogers of West Des Moines, Teresa (Scott) Witter of Mason City, Kathleen (Steve) Rogers of West Des Moines, William (Deanne) Rogers of Waukee and Amy (Adrian) Barrantes of West Des Moines. She also leaves her boys, Adam, Steve, Jonathon, Kyle, Cole (Karissa), Luke, Mark and Dillon; her granddollies, Allison, Audra, Valerie, Kristen (Landan) Alexandra, Christina, Brooke, Cassandra, Emily, Alyssa, Alivia and Sydney; her great-grandchildren, Kendrah, Rush, Samuel, Camden, Hayden, Lexton and Brycen; as well as two more, Charlie and Sophia on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Elizabeth.
Mom, Grammy, Sis, we love you and will miss you!

Kathy, Mark and the entire Rogers Family...I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was a super person to be around. I remember the time she came to look at my condo to buy and we talked for almost two hours about our kids and lives. She was a beautiful lady inside and out and loved her children with all her heart. Make her proud...suppport and love each other.

Mark,
Just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you. While I never had the opportunity to meet your mom, I can tell just by looking at her picture what a beautiful spirit she had. That explains a lot my friend. Her spirit obviously lives on in you. My deepest regrets to you and your family. Your friend, Pam

Terry, Scott, Emily, and boys
We are saddened to hear of your loss. Terry, I know that you were blessed with a wonderful mother, with whom, you did alot with, and when you couldn't be together, the phone calls were a plenty. Her love and support for you and your family are a cherished memory, that will always be with you.
Although God has called her home, she will always be with you, a warmth that you will always feel, and a saddness that will slowly fade, and make room for more memories..
None of us know Gods plan for us, but what a beautiful day, when God calls us all to his kingdom, where we shall one day reunite.
We are here for you and love you very much!!! May God hold you tight, and tighter yet, when you meet with obstacles from her passing. Day by day, and at times step by step.
Love Vikki, Daryl, Amy,Chad,Jaxen,Ben,Kadi, and Alex.

The Baskervilles would like to express our deepest regrets in the passing of the Mother of a great family. Pat always had a kind word for me or my family when they had the ocassion of being with me. She will be remembered by me as being a sweet lady who had a loving heart that was big enough to be shared by all. The pride that she had in her family was immense. The pain in her heart in having to bury a child and not being there to comfort Buff had to be unbearable. This unnatural progression in life was but another opportunity for Pat to display her love and pride in her family. Together they have found the peace which only God can provide.
