Patricia Glass Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 18, 2023.
Patricia Jean Glass, 63, of Pontiac, Michigan, passed away on November 15, 2023. She was born on March 16, 1960, in Dearborn, Michigan. Patricia was a beloved wife, mother, and sister.

Patricia was a caring and creative individual. Her curiosity to learn lead her to many different careers that spanned several fields of work. She worked at Enrico Fermi Nuclear Power Plant in Monroe, MI, Holt Electronics in Aliso Viejo, CA, Unisys in Mission Viejo, CA, Academy Edison in Colorado Springs, CO, and First United Methodist Church in Birmingham, MI. Patricia's expertise and listening ear were highly respected. Her love of family also led her to dedicate time to raising her daughter and being a caregiver for her parents.

Patricia was an alumna of Monroe High School. She furthered her education at Michigan State University, where she studied Material Engineering.

In addition to her professional achievements, Patricia cherished her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Michael Allen Glass, and their daughter, Rev. Cora Elizabeth Glass. She also leaves behind her siblings: Nancy (Howard) Roberson, Cathy (Thomas) Friederichs, Robert (Kimberly) Simmons, and Mary (Charles Anthony) Tate and many beloved nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Josephine (Martin) Simmons, as well as her sister, Judy (Samuel) MacMillan.

Patricia was always engaging in something creative spanning sewing to motion graphics. Her digital artwork was selected for display through Canvas Pontiac and also integrated in the Prayer Walk at St. Lorenz Lutheran in Frankenmuth, MI.

Patricia was always gathering friends and family together. She led many groups at her church, First United Methodist of Birmingham, Michigan. She hosted many holiday gatherings and creative weekends. In her retirement she loved spending time with her Moose Circle Ladies.

Family and friends are invited for a time of remembering and storytelling on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 5pm - 8pm at The Pontiac Little Arts Theater, 47 N. Saginaw St. Pontiac, MI.

Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Birmingham First United Methodist Church in Birmingham, MI. A reception will follow the service.

In memory of Patricia Jean Glass, contributions can be made to Cass Community Social Services (casscommunity.org) and The Art Experience (theartexperience.org). These organizations were close to Patricia's heart, and donations in her honor would be greatly appreciated.

Patricia's warm presence, dedication, and love for her family and community will be deeply missed. May she rest in eternal peace.

Patty was, from my small experience, as genuine and as present as they come. Our interactions were pure connection, and I'm honored that our paths crossed. The Art Experience is humbled by being considered a place near and dear to her heart, and will miss her creativity and authenticity in the studio.

Patty and I have been friends for over 20 years. Too many memories to share but what stands out the most is her unconditional for my daughter kelly always patient always kind always full of grace. She was a constant source of encouragement. She brought such a bright light into my life as she did for many others. Love to my sweet Patty

I met her when we worked at Holt Inc. We became friends and roommates. She was a lovely person, always ready to help someone in need.
