In Loving Memory of Pat Hawks

Patricia M. Hawks, age 80, of Bradenton, Florida passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on May 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

A devoted wife and mother, cherished grandmother, proud great-grandmother, and faithful servant of Christ, Pat lived a life that radiated grace, compassion, and unwavering faith. Born on July 9, 1944, in Grenada, Mississippi, she dedicated her life to her family, her church, and her community, always putting others before herself and living each day with purpose and love.

Pat was the heart of her family-gentle in spirit, strong in prayer, and generous in every way. Among her greatest joys was gifting family and others she held dear with treasures of her own creation and introducing people to Mary Kay Cosmetics. She taught us the true meaning of unconditional love through her actions: listening with full attention, giving with joy, and loving unconditionally.

A woman of real faith, Pat was a longtime member of West Bradenton Baptist Church, where she served in countless ways-including nursing home ministry, G.A.'s, summer camp, and singing in the choir. Her favorite verse was Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," a truth she lived every single day.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. and Mavis Macon. She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Ashton Hawks, her children Ed Hawks (Teri) of Murphy, NC and Bill Hawks (Leigh Ann) of Madison, MS, her grandchildren Dana Reiner (Timon), Will Hawks (Anna), Katie Hawks, Morgan Hawks, Cody Hawks (Kassy), Annie Hawks, and Andrew Hawks, and her great-grandchildren Phin, Bear and Noah, and a host of friends.

Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice knowing she is now at peace, embraced by the everlasting love of her Heavenly Father. Her legacy of faith, love, and strength will continue to live on through all of us who were blessed to know her.

A celebration of her life will be held at West Bradenton Baptist Church Chapel on Monday, May 26, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 am and a service to follow at 11 am. All are welcome to attend and honor the life of this extraordinary woman.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Tidewell Hospice in memory of Pat and in appreciation for amazing care provided in Pat's final days.

"I have fought the good faith, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." - 2 Timothy 4:7-8 (NIV)

Only today, Sunday, 6/2/25, did I discover Pat's going home to be with Jesus.

My sincerest Christian Sympathy to each member of her loving family.

Even though it has been a while since she was called home, I know you miss her every day but rejoice in knowing she is with the LORD and you will see her once again.
