Patricio Hormazabal Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 19, 2025.
Patricio "Pepe" Hormazabal, age 71, passed away on July 19, 2025, in Miami, Florida. Born on August 15, 1953, in Talcahuano, Chile, Patricio lived a long and full life marked by dedication to his family, his work, and the values he held dear.

Known affectionately as "Pepe," Patricio was a brother, father, and grandfather whose presence left a lasting impression on those around him. He was an honest man who always tried his best to be a good person. Though he could be tough at times, it was always out of love-he pushed others to be better and do better. One of his most enduring sayings was "Take care of your family," words he often shared when parting ways with loved ones.

Patricio worked as an aviation mechanic-a role that suited both his technical skill and his unwavering reliability. He was the one you called when something needed fixing-especially if it involved an airplane-and he answered those calls even in the middle of the night. His career took him across borders and cultures, where he embraced travel and delighted in learning local slang wherever he went.

Outside of work, Patricio had a generous spirit. He frequently donated blood and never hesitated to help strangers-whether it was fixing a flat tire or jump-starting a car on the side of the road. Though he didn't have many friends in his later years, those who remained close loved him deeply and truly.

A lifelong lover of animals, Patricio cared for many pets over the years. He fed the neighborhood cat Nino, adopted his own beloved pet Rocky, and helped care for family pets including Molly, May, Bella "Nina", and Cleo. His compassion extended beyond people to all living creatures-a reflection of the big heart that defined him.

In his younger days, Patricio played as a goalkeeper in soccer-a role that mirrored his protective nature in life. Whether on the field or off it, he stood strong for those around him.

He is remembered with love by his kids Amy, Andrew, Aracelly and Christian as well as another family and friends including Francisco, Lala, Maria Luisa, Charlotte, Patricio "Topa", Claudio, Luis, Mirtha, Patricia Lynn, Tiffany y Mercedes.

He joins in rest Molly "Kiki," Cleo, Elba, Juan, Silvia, Eduardo, and his parents, Maria Elena and Rene.

Patricio's legacy lives on through the lives he touched with kindness and his strength. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.

May he Rest in Peace.

______

He really was a good man and incredibly funny.
I have many happy memories but I'll always remember all the weekends he'd spend working under my junk cars trying to get them running again.
I'm really gonna miss talking to my dad. I find comfort in knowing we'll see each other again soon.
