Patrick English Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 16, 2022.
Patrick J. English left his life on September 14, 2022. He was born on February 15, 1952 to Edward P. and Rhoda C. English in the BRONX, NY. Pat was a humanist. He will not be meeting any lord. Pat believed heaven is life here. In this respect, Pat achieved heaven during his life. The final years were not his best, and he is truly sorry to those he hurt. The years before that were wonderful. For those he is very grateful.

Pat was devoted to issues regarding those who have not received the opportunity and support than he had received through his upbringing and education. He thanks his teachers mightily.

He and his two amazing younger brothers were raised in Syosset, Long Island. They grew up playing sports, taking advantage of the great city of New York, enjoying the salt water of the Sound and the Ocean, and scheming on how to beat the oversight of their wonderful, loving parents.

Pat received a BA in Political Science in 1974. Vietnam and Watergate framed his early principals and Pat put his political leanings into many Letters to the Editor in many various newspapers throughout the country.

In 1975, Pat met his wife, Anne. They had two wonderful children, Shea and Michael, that they devoted their lives to. Pat enjoyed a great career in retail food management retiring at 62. Pat and Annie lasted lovingly for almost 40 years.

Pat loved baseball, (he played hardball till he was 48), the Beatles, fishing and seafood, golf, and cooking.

He will miss Annie, greatly; his children Shea & Michael: his grand children Ellie and Ronan; his brothers Dick & Eddie (we were great together); daughter-in-law Julia; friends, Paul, Vincent, Chris, Gerard, Jami and Riley, and all the cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Haven't seen or heard of Pat and Annie since college. So sorry he's gone. Seems his light remained strong through his life. May it remain so for you, Anne, and your children.

Brother Ed

September 17, 2022

This is from his brother Ed. I couldn´t have asked for a better brother then my brother Pat. I was always so proud of him, my entire life. I´ll never forget, when they were playing at holy family against Chaminade. Two men on base one out, he´s pitching and throws the ball, the batter hits the ball, straight at Pat, he catches it barehanded, and throws to first base to finally get the last out. As his younger brother, I was so overwhelmed. I love my brother iwith all my heart. I will miss him dearly every day. He taught me so much, I just can´t explain how much he meant to me. God bless you Pat, will God always be with you , And take care of you. I was blessed that you were my older brother, and teaching me to be a better person every day. I love you Pat. God bless

We were lucky to get to know Pat in the early 90's when we moved to Long Island. We fondly remember him as bright, fun and a bit fearless.
Our hearts go out to Pat's family and friends for their loss.

Countless wonderful memories of years at the office and on the baseball field with him. In addition to his humor and intelligence, he was one of the most honest and ethical men I´ve ever met. A great friend and mentor who left a mark on all who knew him. RIP Big Train

Lots of fond memories with Pat and Anne, New York and Arizona, vacationing in San Diego together or just lounging around the pool at his house. Pat was smart, conscientious about his work and he had a great sense of humor. He will be missed by many and fondly remembered by even more,

Lots of great memories with Pat and Annie have come flooding back. He was smart, honest and hard working with a great sense of humor. Despite the name, he was Irish through and through and very proud of it. I've been missing his company for a while now, but it's not getting any easier now. RIP Patrick.
