Thank you to all that have left comments for dad. Dave, I am sorry that you and dad didn't get much of a chance to talk towards the end. If you would like to share some of the "Adventures of Dave and Pat" I would love to hear them. My phone number is (630) 740-9894.

I am grateful for the privilege of getting to know Patrick at a deeper level over the past few years after he and Martha moved to "town" from the farm. Victor (husband) and I spent many hours together sharing restaurant lunches with these two "lovebirds", taking day adventure drives with them on Sundays, and many take-out lunches in their home during COVID. I always appreciated the memories that were created in family scenarios on the farm, but spending time with Patrick (and Martha) alone frequently gave me an opportunity to know Patrick even better. Especially the last few years. I have a great deal of respect and admiration for Patrick. He was a man of integrity and honor. He kept his commitments to those around him. Especially to Martha, his beloved wife. The love and friendship between them was a good example to all of us. They blended two families in a way that is rare. They supported everyone in both families fairly and with kindness and generosity. Patrick´s memory will live on with each of us. The world is a better place because of Patrick.

Grandpa,
Thank you for all of the beautiful and fun memories on the farm. You and Martha made it such a haven away from home for all of us. I will always be thankful for all the time we got to spend outdoors, playing in the hay, riding the tractor or lawnmower, and trying to get lost in the woods. Love you and miss you every day.
