PAUL M. COCHRAN
BURLINGTON - Paul M. Cochran, a resident of Burlington for 40 years and salesman for International Profit Associates in Chicago, passed away suddenly at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on Wednesday afternoon, June 11, 2003. He was 67 years old.Mr. Cochran was born in Cambridge, the son of the late Clarence and Mary Cochran. He grew up in Arlington and helped work at his fathers variety store in Arlington Heights. He was a graduate of Matignon High School in 1953. He then went onto Boston College where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1957, and his MBA in 1966. He spent most of his professional career with John Morrell Company, where he worked as a salesman for 43 years. He was currently employed as a salesman for International Profit Associates which is a consulting firm based out of Chicago. He had been with the firm for the past 15 years.Mr. Cochran loved the game of basketball. He played lunch hour basketball three days a week for the past 25 years. He shared his knowledge of the sport with the children of Burlington as a coach of CYO Boys and Girls Basketball as well as in the summer league basketball programs.Mr. Cochran enjoyed working around his house. He had a green thumb and took pride in his gardening and landscaping. He looked forward to the time spent with his family at their vacation home in Pittsfield, Vermont. He had also been an active member of St. Theresa's Church in Billerica, where he had been a lector for over 30 years.Mr. Cochran is survived by his wife, Mary L. (Meany) Cochran; he leaves four daughters and their spouses, Susan Cochran and her husband Robert Hastings of Ithaca, NY, Patricia and her husband Bruce Edwards of Stanford, CT, Jennifer and her husband Lou Jennings of Walpole, and Peggy and her husband David Williams of Ithaca, NY; he is the brother of M. Patricia Clark of Ithaca, NY, and John of Arlington; and grandfather of Madeleine Edwards and Anne Williams.The funeral, from Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side), will be held on Monday, June 16, at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Theresa's Church, Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Visiting hours are Saturday 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.Memorials in Paul's name may be made to the New England Home for Little Wanderers, 161 So. Huntington Ave., Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
