Paul Edward Fowler, Sr., 82, of 107 Cauthen Court, Moore, died Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at his home. Born December 8, 1928, in Glendale, SC, he was the son of the late Edgar Arthur and Mattie Inez Brown Fowler. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Elaine Lee Fowler. Paul was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He retired from Springs Industries and most recently was a part-time employee of Publix. He was of the Methodist faith and attended West View Church. He was also an active Mason and a 50-year member of Henry Clay Lodge #280, Dublin, VA. Survivors include three daughters, Paulette Helms and her fiancée Randy Merrell of Rock Hill, SC, Ruth Hyde and husband Steve of Burlington, NC, and Carla Slusher and husband Mark of Altavista, VA; a son, Paul Fowler, Jr. and wife Cindy of Rock Hill, SC; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Spells of Newberry; two beloved sister-in-laws, Juanita Gowan and Gwendolyn Johnson, and a brother-in-law, Wendell Lee and wife Nancy, all of Spartanburg. He was predeceased by a brother, Roy A. Fowler, and a sister, Nellie Ruth Wortman. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, June 3, 2011 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Richard L. Peters. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to SRMC Hospice Special Needs Fund, 120 Heywood Ave, Suite 300, Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family is at the home. Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel
