Paul Conrad Granberry, Jr. passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021, at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Deborah Mayeux Granberry for 44 years. Loving father of Jill Schofield (Michael) and Erin Johnston (Lane). Devoted grandfather of Avery, Lane, and Reese Johnston and Paige, Scott, and Alexandra Schofield. Son of the late Oliver and Dolores Bayard. Brother of Thomas (Donna), Timothy (Joan), and James (Pat) Bayard. Also survived fondly by many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and coworkers. Paul was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish and dedicated 50 years of his life to serving the students and staff of St. Bernard Parish Public Schools. He was a science teacher and counselor at Chalmette High School, principal of St. Bernard High School, and for the past 25 years, Supervisor of Personnel. Paul served as the President of both the St. Bernard Parish School Board Credit Union and the St. Bernard Chapter of the Lions' Club. He represented St. Bernard Parish Public Schools as the District Athletic Director and was an active member of the Chalmette High School Alumni Association. As the namesake of the Paul Granberry Scholarship from the Louisiana Association of School Personnel, he will continue to inspire future educators. He has made a tremendous impact on countless students and teachers through the years and will be remembered fondly. He was a caring and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family. He will be deeply missed by all. In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home , 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, September 11 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in Paul's memory beginning at 1:00 p.m. He will be laid to eternal rest in a private ceremony. Fond memories of Paul at Southeastern and at softball diamonds throughout NOLA. We played together in leagues for various sponsors. He was a great left fielder, a great teammate, and a great guy.
