I met Paul in 1977 when I moved across the street from him in DC. We became fast friends, enjoying drinks, laughs, stories, dancing at Bronco Billy´s, evenings on John´s back deck, and years of loving friendship. The Florida move made it more difficult to get together, but we always stayed in touch. I will miss Paul´s laughter and outrageous remarks. He was a dear friend! I am so glad we were friends.

Angela, we are so sorry to hear the sad news about Paul. We are very grateful for all the fun times we shared with you and Paul, at your house, the boat rides and the stay we had at Savonna. Mike also enjoyed golfing with Paul. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

I met Paul almost 50 years ago when his company provided printing for the company I worked for. It was the beginning of a long and memorable friendship, joined by his wife Angela and my husband Jamie. Jamie and Paul´s love of golf and the grape led to an extra-special bond, and his weekly game with "Porky" Oliver was a highlight of Jamie´s week for many years. The four of us spent many wonderful and hilarious evenings at our favorite local "pub" - La Cote D´Or, just across the street from Paul´s printing shop. Paul always loomed large in our lives. Just like the state of his birth, everything was done in a BIG way and on a grand scale. There was never a dull moment with the Oliver´s, whose generous hospitality knew no bounds.....from cruising around the lake in Virginia on the pontoon boat to tearing around the bay in Florida in his spiffy little speedboat (along with plenty of wine and good food, of course). He leaves a large hole in the universe, but there´s a big Texas-size star shining down on us, just like the twinkle in his eye. Mary Alice & Jamie Pett

Angela, Dottie and I met you two crazy people at Pinchers one afternoon. It was a great laughing fun day and it certainly didn't stop there. We have had so many 'drinks' 'eats' and 'laughs' together at our gatherings at your house, at Cheryl's, and chance meeting in bars over the years. Paul has such a personality and smile that lit up any room. His jokes and stories I will remember always, know your in my heart and prayers always.

We met dear Paul and dear Angela when we opened La Côte d´Or just next door to their business. We became fast friends enjoying wine sitting around the bar during lunch time. It became practically an everyday even which I cherish so much. Paul made us smile with his tales and Texas attitude. Sending Angela much love! I know two fellas sitting around looking down on us with their smiles

Angela,
We will always remember meeting you both when we rented your lovely Florida home. We hit it off immediately and invited you both over one night. What a time we had!!! Cocktails, stories, cocktails, laughs, cocktails. Thank you for sharing your rental property and yourselves with us. The memories are fabulous! Thinking of you.

While we were gathered at Mary and Bob´s for a family reunion one year, Paul looked up and asked me if I believed in God. I replied ,yes. I returned "do you?" He said "I don´t know". Well, it is said, "God is Love". I don´t think that that is difficult. He agreed.
