Paul Tkachuk Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 9, 2011.
TKACHUK Paul John Tkachuk, passed away May 7, 2011 at the age of 79 years. Paul was born in Brooksby, SK, and attended Gronlid and Willow Valley Schools, and high school in Melfort. He worked at the Post Office in Melfort for a time before moving to Saskatoon where he worked at constructing the Army Camp at Dundurn. Paul then moved to Moose Jaw, working for Wilms Transport for a short time. He met Elsie Misko during this time, and they were married in January of 1960. Paul then began a career with the Sask. Wheat Pool in a variety of positions before retiring in 1992. Music was important to Paul and he played violin in various bands throughout his youth, and with his son Brian in his later years. Paul was dedicated to serving others, always looking after his neighbours, helping with yard work, or any errands as needed. He loved to garden and had a green thumb. Paul had a wonderful sense of humour, and was always ready with a joke. He was an active member of the Army, Navy, and Airforce Veterans at the local, provincial and national levels. Predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Jim Tkachuk, he will be sadly missed by his wife Elsie, and son Brian (Kim) and their family Jeremy, Bryn, and Christy (Kurt) Bredeson; sister Reta (William) Matisz Regina, and brother Walter (Gloria) Tkachuk Resource, SK; and many nieces and nephews. The Celebration of Paul's life will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Wednesday May 11, 2011 at 1:30 pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Sunset Cemetery. Memorials to the Cancer Ward 3B, Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, S4T 1A5, would be appreciated. In living memory of Paul, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Dear Brian, Kim and family,

We are very sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad and Grandfather. It is really hard when someone so close leaves us to move on with his/her journey. Take good care of yourselves and know that he is still close; loving and watching over all of you.
