"Dimmi con chi vai chi ti diro chi sei."
"A man is known by the company he keeps."
"Show me your company and I'll show you who you are."
This was a common saying that kept the Judge in the shining light of many
whereby that shining light came early to welcome him into the Pearly Gates of Heaven. Sadly missed by one and all.

Judge Zavarella was one of my instructors at Robert Morris College in the Paralegal Program. His ability to relate his knowlege, experience and general wisdom in class made him one of my favorites and a teacher I will always remember. Your family is in my prayers.

I was very saddened to learn of the passing of Judge Zavarella. Having worked in the court system for many years, he always managed to put a smile on my face no matter how dire my mood. He will be missed. My condolences to his lovely wife & friend Jacqueline.

Judge Zavarella was one of my instructors at Robert Morris Paralegal Program. I enjoyed his class because of his classroom interactivity. I was the recipient of the hypothetical "Black Acre", the "Mercedes" or the "Rolex watch" in an effort by the Judge to bring responses from the class members. Although I received these "bequests" which made the class fun and lively, I received a "B" for a grade! I visited him one day and asked him why. He explained it was very hard to get an "A" from him! He will be remembered by me always as a wonderful, intelligent, fair and fun man who will always be an "A+" in my book of memories. My sincerest sympathy to the Zavarella family.

To Judge Zavarella's Family,
Please accept our deepest sympathy for your major loss. I have lost a lifelong friend that I grew up with and I will miss him. I only wish that my health was better so that I could have paid my respects in person. We will pray for his soul.

I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Paul for 20 years. It would be impossible to find a more polite, knowledgeable or respectful person or judge. I turly regret his passing.

This is truly a sad day. As a birth mother who was reunited with my son that I had given birth to as a teenager; thanks to the compassion, fairness and kindness of Judge Zavarella more than 10 years ago, I know the adoption community will miss him terribly. This great man took the time to speak with me by phone about my personal situation and to explain that he would always try to help individuals who contacted him about this very important issue. I have the greatest respect for Judge Zavarella and believe this is a very sad loss. He was the wind beneath many of our wings and I offer deepest condolances to his family.

Judge Zavarella in the courts of Allegheny County; he was highly respected and very down to earth; my deepest sympathy to all his friends and family
