Paula Jean Buzek

Paula Jean (Hixson) Buzek, My mother, our mother transitioned to better place shortly after noon on Friday May 28, 2011. The original Tiger-Mother Paula Buzek took care of her family. She will be missed.

Sam was at her side when she left this earth as he had steadfastly been the previous 61 years of their marriage. As a formidable team they provided a firm stage for our family where love and generosity got top billing. Dad said that it felt as if she was still at his side for the rest of that sad day. Her children, David (Kathy), Barbie (Dale) Brumbaugh, and I understood this feeling. Mom will be around as the best parts of us and our children and their children for some time. We are forever grateful that she was our Mother.

Her grandchildren, Heather (Brandon), Nick, Heidi (Seth), Megan, Adam, Matt, Kristi, and Maddy felt her love and intelligent influence. Wonderfully, her great-grandchildren, Morgan, Holly, and Sammy got to know her generous person as well.

She loved her brother, Richard as she loved her two sisters, Susie and Sandy that proceeded her in passing. Richard and his wife, Judy played significant spiritual roles providing help at every turn. Mom is grateful to her brother and his wife as my sister, brother, Father, and I are grateful.

The fierce protector of all things young and vulnerable, be it animal or person, we ask God Now to protect our Mother and reward her for a job well-done.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd., Akron, OH 44319 (SR 619) with Rev. Bob Denton officiating. Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday and one hour prior to service on Tuesday. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
