Paula Krupansky Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 17, 2025.
Paula J. Krupansky passed away on July 4th, 2025 at the age of 67 from COPD. Paula was born in Detroit, MI on May 1st, 1958, the daughter of Joseph and Marge (Barlow) Ratke. She was the beloved wife of Frank for over 46 years, the loving mother of Andrew (Lauren) of Stonington, CT and the cherished grandmother of Julian and Teddy. Paula's siblings include the late Al (Patricia-deceased), Kathy (Jim) White, Bill (Barb-deceased), Rick (Martha) and Denise (Cliff) Griffin. Paula's sister in law was Marianne (Gary) Sirotti of Bluffton, SC. Paula was a favorite aunt to 11 nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews. Paula was the godmother to Wendy Quick and Nick Griffin. Paula had many cousins and especially enjoyed spending time with Jim and Charlotte Ratke. Everyone who met Paula became a friend; the closest and dearest being Marcia Sherbeck. For the past two years, Paula made sure Tessie, the family Maltipoo, was fed and spoiled with treats. Paula was a resident of Novi, Michigan for almost 39 years.

Paula worked in a variety of healthcare clerical positions and retired from Ascension Providence of Novi in April of 2018. For the past seven years, Paula and Frank have had a "blast" traveling, attending learning events, playing cards and games with friends, and simply enjoying life to its fullest.

Paula was such a kind and caring person, she was loved by everyone. Paula enjoyed having people over and was known for her delicious cooking; you never left Paula's home hungry! Paula made sure her house was the one neighborhood children and Andrew's classmates always wanted to come over to. Paula was creative and had an eye for decorating.

Even after her passing, Paula continues her generosity and giving heart as her body was donated to the Wayne State University Medical School. Paula hoped this donation would help not only a medical student learn but also contribute to research for breathing challenges.

A Celebration of Paula's Life will be held Friday, October 10th at St James Catholic Church in Novi. Family will greet guests starting at 10 AM and mass will begin at 10:30 AM; a luncheon will follow.

The family also wishes to acknowledge and thank Dr. Jane and Dr. Chan from the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers for all the care they provided Paula. She liked them both very much.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Angela Hospice, the Solanus Casey Center, the Michigan Humane Society, or a preferred charity. Everyone is encouraged to keep Paula's kindness continuing by doing one or more acts of kindness everyday.

While death is a sad thing it need not be for a life well lived; spread your angel wings dearest Paula and soar high!
