MacHALE _ Paulean Ann September 5, 1940 - April 18, 2007 In the early afternoon of April 18th Paulean peacefully passed away, surrounded by her family and closest friends. Paulean spent her last few days at her home, in Roberts Creek, amongst the things that she loved the most. Paulean is survived by her children Laurie and Darcy and her four grandchildren (Odelia, Liam, Camille, and Olivia). Paulean was born and spent her childhood years in Port Alberni. Moving to the North Shore in her early teens Paulean spent the next 40 years in West Vancouver. Always entrepreneurial, Paulean's professional career encompassed being a small business owner, top producing realtor, board member and Director of the North Vancouver Division of the Real Estate Board, and an educator for 12 years at BCREA. The creation and implementation of the Buyer Agency was her proudest professional accomplishment. Paulean truly enjoyed being instrumental in many industry and community initiatives whose purpose was to greatly improve quality of work and life. In 1996, Paulean relocated to the Sunshine Coast where she took up residence in Roberts Creek, a community she quickly embraced and eventually became an integral member of. Vesting her interest in the Sunshine Coast Paulean became a member of the Sunshine Coast Community Futures Development Corporation where she was an Executive for 7 years and instrumental in many projects which benefited the Sunshine Coast, like the Community Economic Development partnership on the Sunshine Coast, a plan for revitalization of lower Gibsons which included the Pier and Wine Garden Waterfront Park, and Dakota Ridge Ski area. Most recently she became a passionate member and driving force of e Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden Society. A passionate, driven, inspired women she gave her best in everything she touched from gardening at her home in Roberts Creek, creating and decorating her home, painting and crafting, entertaining friends and family, loving her children and grandchildren. She was a mentor and teacher to many, always freely offering her advice. With a playful good nature, Paulean had a strong appreciation of humour. She lived her life to the fullest. One of her credos being..."what I believe I can achieve". Paulean's family wishes to thank those within the community, professional support staff and friends who assisted and supported Paulean over the past 6 months. Your loving care is greatly appreciated. Family, friends, and peers are invited to attend a celebration of Paulean's life on May 5th in Sechelt at the Seaside Center (5790 Teredo St.) at 13:00 hrs.
