Pearl E. Mosley

HAMPTON - Mid afternoon on May 31, 2016, the Lord called Pearl (Missy) home to rest in the comfort of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Pearl was 84 years old. Pearl was born on December 6, 1931 in Conroe, Texas to Jewel E. Dixon and Willie H. Dixon. A country girl at heart, farming was her passion. She brought that passion to Hampton by planting gardens in various plots around the city. In1963, she married the love of her life, Virgil Mosley. As the family traveled across the United States and Asia, she busied herself raising six children. After, her husband's retirement from the USAF in 1975 and their return to Hampton, Pearl worked in the school system. She retired from the school system as a Teacher's Assistant for special needs students at Jefferson Davis Middle School. Ms. Mosley, as she was called by her children's friends and acquaintances, was so loved by everyone she met, that people would continue to drop by just to say hi, for decades to come. Pearl is preceded in death by her parents, Jewel and Willie, her brothers, Willie, Alfred, Samuel and Jonathan, and her sister Florence. Pearl is survived by her loving husband, Virgil (with whom she would have been celebrating 53 years of marriage in June); her daughters, Evangelist Rita Twiggs, Sharon Akins, and Jacqulyn Franklin; her sons, Vaughn Mosley, V. Wayne Mosley, and Chris Mosley; her grandchildren, E. Joy Rivers (Gary), Alicia Akins, Kara Akins, and Tyler Mosley, and her great grandson, Titus Rivers. The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the professionals who helped Virgil provide the absolute best in-home health care for Pearl that you could possibly ask or hope for. To God be the glory for the blessing she will continue to be even in death to all who were privileged to know and love her. Viewing will be held Friday, June 3, 2016 from Noon until 6:00 PM at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the chapel. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
