I am so very sorry to hear this. Peter was one of my favorite cousins. I had hoped our families were going to get together again soon. It's been many years since I had a chance to talk with him. I send my sincere condolences and prayers to all of his family.

Dear Elsie, Sheryl, Leanne and Horon family
I was very saddened to hear of Peter's death. Peter's optimism, work ethic, kindness and generosity will be greatly missed. He believed in the value of acknowledging one's heritage and was instrumental in nurturing the cultural activities of the Edmonton AUUC and working with other branches as well. His positive approach to life inspired other people to believe that problems could be overcome with thought and effort. You can take comfort in the fact that Peter lived his life to the fullest and that you were a big part of it. I know I am very grateful for having known Peter.

Mrs. Horon,Sheryl, Leanne and families,
I have fond memories of Mr Horon during my childhood times dancing at the hall in Edmonton. Even after moving to Calgary I would bump into Mr Horon at concerts at the Calgary hall when he came down with the choir. I recall the last time I saw him and I said "Hello Mr. Horon," He said, "For heavens sake, you can call me Peter already!" Such a lovely man, and I will always remember how kind he was and how he went out of his way to say Hello. Another pillar of the AUUC gone but not forgotten. My thoughts and prayers with you all.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Peters collapse, followed so soon after by his demise. Peter was the kindly presence at the Ukrainian Centre, its celebrations and the choir there that he sang with. My condolences to those nearest and dearest to him. Peter will be missed

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Peters sudden collapse and demise. He was the benevolent, kindly presence at the Ukrainian Centre and the heart and soul of Malanka. He was fiercely proud of his Ukrainian heritage and will long be missed by Trembita, the choir he was passionate about and sang with. My thoughts are with those nearest and dearest to him. My condolences at this time of loss.

Auntie Elsie, Sheryl and Leanne, and family,

Please accept our deepest condolences. Our thoughts are with you at this most sorrowful time.

Uncle Peter was an extraordinary man. There are so many - both family and friend - who will deeply mourn his passing, as his was a life of service, love, and compassion for those he cared about most. He used his time here well and left this world a better place. There is no greater legacy.

May your lifetime of happy memories help to comfort and sustain you in the weeks and years to come.

Gave Peter a big hug on Wednesday and learned early on Friday about his situation. How quickly things change... he was a HUGE part of my experience at AUUC and I will continue to keep his dreams of cultural activity at AUUC alive. He was truly THE kindest person I have ever met. The goodness of his heart make me want to be a better person. My deepest condolences to you, Elsie.

Elsie and Family - sending my personal condolences on the untimely passing of Peter. Today I dug up the "The Blue and The Gold" - the 1960 edition of our Two Hills school book - just to remind me again of those times so long ago. He was #18 on page 43 and the class of 1958. We were so young and now we are not. Fond memories of an era gone by. Take care.

We were shocked when we opened the paper today. So many memories of Peter. Gosh he taught me in Grade 7 which was his first teaching job. Then I taught with him at Wellington for several years. He had a great sense of humor. Remember the Wellington Staff parties Elsie?? Peter was a great colleague and a good friend. Our deepest condolences to you and the girls.

Please accept my deepest condolences. I am praying for strength and comfort for you at this time. Peter gave so much to the Ukrainian Centre; he really loved that place and wanted it to carry on to the next generations. I remember with fondness our trip to Ukraine where I got to know Peter, he was proud of his Ukrainian heritage, his farm and family. Rest in Peace Peter

Our deepest sympathies go out to you! We remember all the many things Peter did to keep the Ukrainian Centre going and your involvement when you did the catering there. Christopher always enjoyed the Ukrainian dancing and singing in the choir as well as helping to serve at Malanka. You can be proud in knowing how Peter wanted to get the young people involved in the organization and for all the work he did to share his Ukrainian culture with others. We are thinking of you. May all your happy memories of Peter stay close to your hearts. Take care! Christopher and Don Pattie and Elke Siebels
