PETER SHARUN Obituary
May 15, 1926 – January 10, 2014
On Friday, January 10, 2014, Mr. Peter Sharun of Tofield, Alberta peacefully passed away at home with his family by his side at the age of 87 years.
Peter is survived by his loving family, his wife of 57 1/2 years, Verna; seven children Sharon Sharun, Charlotte Solarz, Marilyn Nestman (Gordon Lucyk), Myron (Sheila), Brian (Shawna), Brent (Dawn) and Dwayne (Kim); nine grandchildren; his buddy Sandy; one sister Jenny Siracky; two sisters in law Mary Sharun and Jane Stawnichy; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Peter was predeceased by one daughter Mary in infancy; two sons in law Daniel Nestman and Carl Solarz; parents Mike and Mary; one sister Annie Kozak; four brothers Bill, Frank, John and Fred; along with numerous relatives.
A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Mundare, Alberta where a Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with the Basilian Fathers officiating. Interment to follow in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the "Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta" or to the "Alberta Diabetes Foundation." My heartfelt Sympathy, Auntie Verna, and Family, My Dear Cousins!
I am so sorry, my heart goes out to you and your families. I remember when my sister and I were little girls, we looked so forward to our weekend trips to the farm. We would play in the field by the old cars Uncle Peter had. He would always refer to my sister and I as "THE BOYS" it made us giggle.

May this candle burn brightly with the memories of dad and light his way along his peaceful journey. I was grateful I had the chance too help you look after dad - never watched so much news in my life. Your a very strong woman with tremendous strength. You and the family were able to fulfill Dad's wish and we were able to spend Christmas and New Years at home and all together. Mom (and Baba),
Our thougths are with you during our loss. Mom (Baba) we have many fond memories of spending weekends at the farm. From Dad asking how's things, how's work, what's new in Airdrie. To his chore list he would have for me of things he wanted done around that farm... but I always suspected sometimes it was your list too. Also memories with Alicia and Jessica always wanting to eat Gido's cereal while out there.
Mom you are an amazing strong women who took very good care of dad. He would be as proud as we are and keep his wishes alive. I know we will.
