Philip S. Hagen 1925 - 2012 FALMOUTH, MA - It is with mixed emotions, we say goodbye to our father, Philip S. Hagen. He died peacefully in his sleep at home Monday morning, November 9, 2012. He was 87. Philip was born in Portland, ME on July 29, 1925, the son of Philip and Adelaide Hagen. He was a graduate of Cheverest High School, ME. and Boston College, MA in 1947 and went on to enjoy a career in finance and insurance. He was active in his church, loved to play golf, and was a staunch supporter of the NY Yankees. He was the happiest when his children and grandchildren were around him. Philip is predeceased by his loving wife of 43 years, Claire (Trainor) Hagen. They lived in Springfield, MA and retired to Falmouth, MA in 1995. He is survived by daughters and son- in-laws Susan and Peter Bettencourt of Edgartown, MA; Janice and Richard Leveille of Mesa, AZ; and Gayle and Michael Hagen-Peter of Underhill, VT; also by his loving grandchildren Daniel and Cassandra Bettencourt, Timothy Bettencourt, Greggory Bettencourt, Emily Leveille, Julia Leveille, Jarrett Hagen-Peter, Graham Hagen-Peter, Galen Hagen-Peter, Hillary Hagen-Peter, and his future daughter-in-law Brigitte Calhoun. Visitation will be Monday, November 12, 2012 from 2:00pm-5:00pm at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main St., Falmouth, MA, 02540. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at 10:00am at St. Patrick's Church, Falmouth, MA with a burial to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. A reception will follow.
