Phil!!! It's hard to imagine that you won't turn a corner and greet me with your full of life energy. What I do know is that you lived every day giving that to the people around you. I will remember your zest for living, and even 1/2 a cup of it on darker days would probably give me 10 years worth of enthusiasm. I'm sure you fully lived every ounce your body gave, and my heart goes out to your family. I should have known you at St. Francis, but you added a lot of laughs and joy to my UofC days and they still bring me smiles. I'll bet you made your family very proud, in your living and your dying, and I pray for them right now. I'm sorry to only find out now, and to have missed your celebration of life at St. Mary's.

I had the pleasure of knowing Phil at the University of Calgary. He was always smilng, laughing, outgoing and loved to have a good time with his many friends. His positive energy and can-do spirit was contagious. He was always full of life force. Was very sorry to hear of his passing.

We were very sorry to hear of Phil's passing and know he would have brought his renowned positive attitude and genuine courage to the battle he fought. We crossed paths less frequently in the past few years but the last time we saw him in the Sky Harbour Airport he talked about his family and his pride and love was very apparent. Your memories will keep you strong and know he was a good man admired for his zest for life and warm smile. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Lynn and Rick Grafton

Our thoughts and prayers are with Jen, Austin Jessica and family. Phil's incredibly positive attitude was contagious and he enhanced the lives of friends, family and anyone he could help with inspiration that anything was possible, given committment. Engaging, vivacious, caring, loving, blunt, warm, driven , fun ...Phil made the most of his time on earth and was like a magnet for positive energy, sharing it with anyone he could.
With love,
John and Janice Murphy and family.

To Phil's family & close friends...my heartfelt sympathy. I went to St. Francis HIgh School with Phil, and what I remember about him was his great enthusiam in getting us students going in the bleachers at the Brown's football games! He was great fun to be around! Later on I would run into him out at the Shuswap and catch up on the latest. Always friendly and a good conversationalist. Sad that he is gone as such a young age... Kind regards, Robyn Benner

Anyone who knew Phil Carroll would agree... the world lost one its shiniest stars. We first met Phil during Austin's second year of PW's and what a blast that was especially the Dad's/Mom's who went to Quebec. Many fond memories- Phil loved the game of hockey and what an encourager he was to all the players:) Phil was a bigger than life character.. you can't think of him without smiling what a great guy :) I marveled at his optimism regardless of the circumstance. He inspired me to see the best in people and situations. I looked for him at the Coyote's prospect camp and when I didn't see him I knew something was up... Austin, you looked great out there- you definitely fit in with the best of them ... hugs to the Carroll's.

Dearest Carroll Family, For those of us that have watched and listened from afar, this has been a courageous, and selfless journey for all of you. What an amazing, incredible, strong family you are.! Our hearts go far reaching out to you, at this very difficult and hugely sad time. Hold peace in your hearts, for knowing Phil Carroll, he has probably met God, helped a thousand angels, spread his love unconditionally, and bought up all the available real estate that he can get his hands on in Heaven, and is simply just waiting for friends and family to show up.! This, was the true Phil we all adored and loved so heartedly. With much love, Kerri Sprung-Avery and The Sprung Family

We are truly sorry to hear this sad news. Phil was our son's first hockey coach and as a goalie mom he helped me understand over ten years ago that it would have to go through 5 other players to get to the goalie. Words I've always appreciated. Thoughts and prayers with you. The Meacham Family.
