Phillip Lococo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 16, 2024.
Phillip Andrew Lococo, known affectionately to his family and friends as Phil, passed away on July 10, 2024, in Chula Vista, CA, at the age of 71. Born in Los Angeles, Phillip was a man of many dimensions, from his dedicated service in the US Army to his significant contributions in ComputerTechnology with the US Government Civil Service.

Phillip graduated from Loyola High School before furthering his education at the California Maritime Academy and Coleman College. His military career marked a significant chapter in his life, proudly serving in the US Army until his retirement. Phillip was especially proud to have served in the Vietnam war. Following his military service, he embarked on a 30 year career in civil service, where he continued to apply his disciplined work ethic and keen intellect.

Phillip was a devout member of his local Catholic Church, where he found solace and community. His hobbies included occasional golf and participating in tournament poker, activities that brought him joy and relaxation and a chance to "go big".

Described by those who knew him as loyal yet stubborn, compulsive yet loving, and immensely generous, Phillip's personality was a tapestry of contrasting traits that made him uniquely beloved. He is survived by his wife, Tina; children, Vanessa, Julie, and Jimmy; grandchildren; Kayla, Salvador, Jude, Mia, Tyler and Jacob, his brother, John; and sister, Melanie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Mildred and Andrew Joseph.

The family is being assisted by Corpus Christi Funeral Home, located at 450 Corral Canyon Rd, Bonita, CA 91902. Phillip's life will be remembered and celebrated by all those he touched with his unwavering spirit and heartfelt generosity.

What a beautiful tribute to Phil yesterday. A Catholic Mass to celebrate his life and faith and then military honors! So fitting for an honorable man, brother, son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Bless you, Phil xo

Phil was a kind and friendly soul. He wrote a nice note in my El Camino 1970 year book. We lived together for a year at the Loyola High School campus. I have always remembered him from those days long ago. I shall pray for him.
Sincerely,
Edgar C Stambuk, MD

Phil, always made me laugh. I always had an issue with my computer, it wasn't the computer it was me.

Phil didn´t like riding with me, while I was driving. He claimed I drove to fast. No one else agreed with him.

This was a pretty special day for us with Phil landing a pretty good size fish. Although we all helped reel it in - Phil wanted to take all the credit. We let him.
