Canfield - Phyllis Jean Fleming, 98, of Canfield, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, August 23,2022. She was born on February 29,1924, the daughter of Pauline and Harold Ross in New Waterford, Pennsylvania. She attended South High School in Youngstown. Growing up in the Area of Idora Park, Phyllis often told stories of the big bands that she enjoyed at the Idora Park Ballroom. She met her future husband, Robert Higgs Fleming, Jr. while he was home on leave from the Marine Corps during WWII. They were married one week later and were married until his passing in 1999. Phyllis loved her family who meant everything to her. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, daughter and husband, Pam and tom Fountaine, and brother and his wife, Dob and Yolanda Ross. To cherish her memory, she leaves her sons, Robert Fleming III, of Youngstown, David Fleming of Canfield, Rusty (Terri) Fleming of Canfield; daughters, Lyn Kraul of Youngstown, and Lori Rivera (Tracy) of Deltona, Florida; grandchildren, Lisa (mike) Murphy, Staci (Frank) Davidson of Canfield, Robbie Fleming IV, Kristen (Scott) Edwards, Dr. Kate (Aqid) Hanif, Kelly (David) Cushman, Eric Fleming; great grandchildren; Alex (Taylor) Jakovina, Lauren Reese, Alana Reese, Gus Davidson, Grace Davidson, Gavin Fleming, Beau Edwards, Zoe Washington, Carter Cushman; and great-great grandchild Mason. Phyllis will be cremated and there will be not services held. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice of the Valley.
