Deacon R. J. Price, 80, of Whigham, GA, transitioned on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Cairo, GA. Deacon Price served faithfully at St. John Church of God in Christ for over 51 years. He was honored for his service as a “GEMS” (God’s Extraordinary Messengers Serving) Deacon Emeritus in 2019.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 12:00 PM (EST) Saturday, May 21, 2022, at St. John Church of God in Christ, 3490 Bainbridge Highway, Quincy, FL, 32351, with burial at Mt. Olive Cemetery, 291 South Mt. Olive Church Road, Colquitt, GA 39837. Public viewing will be Friday, May 20, 2022, from 1:00 – 6:00 PM at Reed & Hall Mortuary, 10 South Monroe Street, Quincy, FL 32351.
Deacon Price leaves to cherish his memories, his lovely wife of 61 years: Shirley Price; four sons: Richard Price of Pensacola, FL, John Price (Trenise) of Bainbridge, GA, Samuel Price (Taneisha) of Quincy, FL, and Alex Price of Whigham, GA; five daughters: Leatha Price Humphrey (Robert) of Arlington, GA, Brenda Price Johnson (Larry) of Havana, FL, Sharon Price of Tallahassee, FL, Tracy Price Lockwood (Richard) of Quincy, FL, and Esther Price Smith (Fred) of Bainbridge, GA; 36 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; five siblings: Mable Price Baker (Buddy) of Colquitt, GA, J.B. Price (Mattie) of Tampa, FL , Henry Lee Price (Twila) of Tampa, FL, Carolyn Price Hill (James) of Tampa, FL, and Gloria Price Green (Charles) of Quincy, FL.
