NAIRN RACHEL ANTOINETTE
A devoted wife, loving mother, adored grandmother, and loyal friend died quietly on Saturday, May 31, 2008 surrounded by her family at her home in Washington, Pennsylvania. She cherished working in her garden and took exceptional pride in her grandchildren and a home overflowing with warmth and love. During her 75 years of life, she always placed her family first, serving as an example of remarkable faith and exceptional love to those around her. Born the first child of Anthony Bruno Sarafite and Joan Ann Pisano, Mrs. Nairn grew up in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. A graduate of Saints Cosmos and Damian High School in 1952, Mrs. Nairn married Dr. John P. Nairn on August 6, 1955. For 53 years, she devoted her life to her husband and her children. Mrs. Nairn was an active member of the Neighborhood Brownson House Auxiliary, Symphony South, and the Nemacolin Country Club Women's Golf Association. She was a former member of the Washington Hospital Auxiliary Twig, Washington and Jefferson College Auxiliary, and the Current Events Club. Mrs. Nairn also held memberships at Nemacolin Country Club in Beallsville, Pennsylvania, Quail Ridge Country Club in Boynton Beach, Florida, and the Golf Club of Washington. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Nairn is survived by a daughter, Dr. Sandra J. Nairn of Moorestown, New Jersey, two sons; Dr. John P. (Denise) Nairn, Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Gregory A. (Elizabeth) Nairn of Venetia, Pennsylvania, six grandchildren; Matthew John Raphael Nairn, Caroline Rachel Connors, Isabella Marie Nairn, Sarah Marie Connors, Rachel Mary Nairn, Andrew Joseph Nairn, a sister; Joyce Logan of Meadville, Pennsylvania, and a brother; Joseph Sarafite of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Deceased are her parents and a brother, Anthony Louis "Ted" Sarafite. Friends will be received from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Monday-June 2, 2008 in the WARCO-FALVO FUNERAL HOME, INC. Wilson at East Katherine Avenue, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/ director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. Father John Dinello will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday-June 3, 2008 at 10:30 am in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 119 West Chestnut Street, Washington, Pennsylvania. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum, 2900 Washington Road, McMurray, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Family Hospice and Palliative Care in Mt.
