Ralph passed away peacefully on April 10, 2013 with his family at his side. He is survived by his loving wife Nellie; companion Karen Ashby; children Ralph (Kathy), Charles (Julia), Adrian (Colleen), Tony (Casey), Monica (Doug); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Ralph's Life will be held on Friday, April 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 28th Avenue, Surrey, BC. Condolences may be offered at

Although Robert and I didn't have the privilege of knowing Ralph very well since we became neighbours two years ago, we enjoyed a little chat here and there when he was out and about smiling widely as he cruised on his scooter. I'll miss Ralph in many ways, both business and personal. His Dutch hard work ethic always impressed me but he had a softer and kind side as well which made my time with him very enjoyable. My thoughts go out to everyone at Hazelmere and to his family as well. Rest in peace my friend, you will be sorely missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. The loss of a father, husband, uncle, grandfather is so sad. Death takes away so much: the person we loved and all the hopes we had for them. Death also gives us the opportunity to grieve in the comfort of those we love and who love us.
