Ramona GURBA Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ramona on February 15, 2015 at the age of 84 years.
Ramona was predeceased by her husband and soul mate Joseph of 57 years.
Remembered by her six children, Gerald (Elaine) Gurba, Wayne Gurba, Monica (Peter) Stack, Mary-Jo (Luke) Flannigan, Karen (Michael) Gabriel, and Rose-Marie (Brian) McGee; twelve grandchildren, Leslie, Leah (fiancée Jason), Andrew, Evan, Kylie (Lane), Dustin, Kennedy, Dylan, Michael, Patrick, Rebecca and Sarah; two great-grandchildren, Allie, and Blake. Also to mourn her loss is brother Rudy (Lillian) Zenko of California and sister Marie (John) Lentsch of Calgary.
Ramona was born and raised in Vegreville, Alberta, where she met and married Joe in 1951. There followed six rambunctious children with whom she spent the majority of her time raising. She loved figure skating, reading, crosswords, the color red and travelling the world with Joe.
A Prayer Service will be held Friday, February 20, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Connelly- McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 – 114 Street, Edmonton, Alberta. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 9830 – 148 Street, Edmonton (wear a little red if you are coming). Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society.

Missing Mom so much more now than when she died. Back then, it was just waiting for her body to give out - she couldn't eat or drink. Now, I'm reminded of her everyday around the house as I have so many of the things she used everyday and with Spring coming, seeding and getting ready to plants the flowers she adored - a love she passed along to me. She deserved to have so much more time with us. Memories keep her around. MJ

Rosie : It was sad news indeed to hear of your Mom's passing. I last saw her at your wedding at the Royal Glenora ,and I recall remarking to her how she had not seemed to age one bit. She was typical of all the great Mom's in Parkview and Crestwood, always surrounded by a multitude of noisy kids , never seeming the least bit agitated by the chaos. She was a lovely woman.

Dear Gerald,Wayne,Monica,Mary-Jo,Karen,and Rose-Marie;
Please accept my deepest sympathy on the death of your wonderful mom, Ramona. I had every intention of attending the funeral yesterday, however,as you may not know I am the prmary care giver to my husband, Lou. He was having a bad day and so I was unable to attend the funeral. I had my red vest all ready to go.
Your mother was one of my most beautiful cousins.. When I first met her in 1950, I was awed by her beauty and charm and of course, she married one of my handsomest cousins, Joe. They truly were soul mates and both such beautiful people in every way! Through the years, Ramona never changed as I knew her. She was always kind and friendly with an outstanding personality. Now the two soul mates are together again until eternity.
God rest her soul. And I wish all of you great health, happiness and contentment in life.
