Randy Wurzelbacher Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 30, 2022.

Randy Lee Wurzelbacher, 60, passed away peacefully at his Lawrenceburg, IN home on Thursday, December 29, 2022, after a ten-month battle with metastatic kidney cancer. He was born in Cincinnati, OH to the late Leroy A. and Christine (nee Tucker) Wurzelbacher on October 27, 1962. Randy was the beloved husband of Shelly (nee Berryman) Wurzelbacher; loving father and stepfather of Elysa (Robby) Spencer, and Andrew, Linsi, and Karen Simpson; cherished grandfather of Finn, Payton, Sylas, and Zoie; treasured brother of Ada (Danny) Baker, Frank (the late Kay) Wurzelbacher, Katie (David) Baker, and the late Wm. Phillip (Carol, living) Wurzelbacher; and loved uncle and great uncle of many dear nieces and nephews.

Randy had a love for sports and an unlimited knowledge of sports facts and stories. He enjoyed being home working in the yard or around the house. Randy proudly spent 36 years working in the printing industry, most recently as an Account Manager with Olberding Brands Family. He was a generous man who helped everyone he could. Randy will be remembered fondly for his kind heart and will be missed tremendously by all lucky enough to have known him.

My uncle had a heart of gold and didn't give anything less than what he had to give to everyone. As one of the oldest grandchildren in the family, I knew my uncle Randy was going to be an amazing dad and he would always follow through. If he said he was going to do something, by God he did it! You never doubted it would happen. He stood true to his word. His advice was often cutthroat, but man did he tell it like it was and when you needed it, kicked you into the right spot and never looked back. He always loved no matter what and was the most nonjudgmental person I knew. He saw the good in everyone and every situation but there were boundaries and if you crossed those you knew it. He will truly be missed.
When he met Aunt Shelly, his life changed forever. We went from hearing him say that Elysa was his entire life to I've got an amazing lady in my life and my daughter likes her a lot too :) . He told me all about her and her kids and he loved everyone! The family pictures and gatherings show it. I am thankful that he had everyone to bless his life and make it so much better. Seeing him with Shelly we knew we were also blessed. He was always smiling and even with cancer still remained true to who he was. There was no doubt that he truly found his soulmate and partner for life. He loved you so very much Aunt Shelly. I know he will be watching over you and the rest of us. He loved his family very much. Elysa, I am here for you. I know where you are today and how hard it is, if you need anything let me know. I also know his grandchildren were the world to him! He loved with an unending love. I love you and send hugs your way. I am thankful to all the people who have been a blessing to them and have been there for Shelly as friends, co-workers and family. Fly high uncle Randy, we love you. Thanks for all the lessons and love. I miss you so much!
