RAYMOND E., JR.
Age 84, on Thursday, March 17, 2005, of Ross Twp., formerly of the North Side. Joined heaven's softball team. Ray was born December 20, 1920 in Coupon, PA to the late Raymond E., Sr. and Bella (Miller) Chirdon; in addition to his parents Ray is preceded in death by his two sisters and their husbands Lorraine (Ned) McMonigal and Evelyn (George) Colby. Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Emily Elizabeth (Betty) Barron; dear father of Carol E. Brahler and her husband Raymond and Raymond E. Chirdon, III and his wife Cathleen; loving grandfather of Cherie (Russell) Johnson, Christine (Michael) Johnson, Jaime Brahler, Christopher, Danielle and Dakota Chirdon; proud great-grandfather of Russell Johnson, Jr. During WWII Ray served in the US Army with the 88th Infantry Division (the Fighting Blue Devils) as a Military Policeman. Ray was a member of the Brighton-McClure Presbyterian Church, where he had served as a Treasurer and Sunday School Teacher for many years. Ray was employed by the Pittsburgh Board of Public Education and retired as the Chief Accountant in the Finance Department. Ray loves sports, he participated in vollyball, basketball, dart ball, bowling and in his younger days baseball. Ray's greatest passion was softball and after retiring he was instrumental in the organization of Senior Citizens Softball in the North Suburban area. Those who loved him and called him friend will sadly missed him. Ray's family would like to thank the staffs of Arden Courts North Hills, Concordia at Rebecca Residence and Good Samaritan Hospice of Pittsburgh for all their loving care. Friends received Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, North Hills, where Services will be held Monday 10 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimers Assoc. Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 100 W. Station Square Dr., Suite 500, Pgh., PA. 15219.

dear chirdon family. praise God for the life of ray. remember every good thing he stood for. may his soul rest in peace. sorry we found out too late to pay our respects at the funeral home.
