Raymond G. Couture

Raymond G. Couture, 88, passed away Sunday March 14, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born January 24, 1933 in St. Charles, Quebec to the late Joseph O. and Marianna Couture. Raymond moved to the United States in 1954 and served in the US Army. He then worked for over 21 years for K.V. Homes before opening his own business Ben & Ray Construction in 1976. Ray was very proud of his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He also liked to work in his yard and do small projects around the house. Ray was a longtime communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. He leaves his loving wife of 63 wonderful years Therese (Nadeau) Couture, his son Lionel Couture and his wife Mary of W. Spfld., his daughters, Sylvie Brown and her husband Joseph of Feeding Hills and Denise Buteau and her husband Robert of Agawam, his grandchildren, Lauren, Eric and Kelsie Brown, Danielle Couture and Samantha Buteau, his sister Lisette Breton and her husband Denis, his brother Mario Couture and his wife Denyse, his sister-in-law Raymonde Couture all of W. Spfld., and brother-in-law Donald Lemieux of Canada. Ray was predeceased by his brothers Richard Couture of W. Spfld., and Marcel Couture of Canada, his sisters Therese Lemieux and Gisele Couture of Canada. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held SAT 11:30 AM at St. Thomas Church, 47 Pine St., W. Splfd. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. A Calling Hour will be held Sat. from 10 to 11 AM at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 WESTFIELD ST., W. SPFLD. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
