Services for Raymond Bruce Craig age 58 of Clovis, NM will be held Friday, June 27, 2014, at Asbury United Methodist Church in Albuquerque, NM.
Burial will be held at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas at a later date.
Raymond was born June 25, 1955, in Manchester, NM to Alonzo and Bertha Meybohm Craig. Raymond Craig moved to Clovis NM at the end of the second grade. He graduated from Clovis High School in 1973. He graduated from NMSU in 1978 with a degree in Business. He taught 2 years at a Business College in Albuquerque before joining the USAF. He served 12 years as an officer in the area of a computer analyst. During that time he met and married Layloni Drake also a military officer. Together they had three children. After the military he worked for the state of Ohio in their technical support division in computers. After four years he moved to El Paso, TX to support his wifes career as a pastor. During this time he worked part time for the public schools in special education. When a move to Gallup, NM came Ray went to work for the public school in special education. Disabilities were taking their toll and employment was no longer an option, Ray volunteered at his wifes church to provide an outstanding weekly church newsletter and other graphic arts. Ray loved his family, his church, and his Lord.
We celebrate that he now lives with Lord and God. He is survived by his wife Layloni Drake of the home in Clovis, two sons Peter M. Craig of Clovis, Phillip R. Craig (DAna) of Albuquerque, NM, one daughter Alysha M.L. Craig of Clovis, two brothers Douglas Craig, of Albuquerque, NM and Larry Craig (Arlene) of Palitine, IL, one sister Patricia Harp (Dave) of Belen, NM, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Bertha Ann Whatmore, and a brother Thomas Richard Craig.
