It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Raymond Roettger on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. He was born on January 19, 1933 to Bernard and Mary Roettger (Stritenburger) of Pilger, SK. Ray attended Sterns School then left to work in Regina. In 1956 he started a job at Inland Cement Plant where he worked for 38 years. While in Regina he met and married Kathy (Hehn) and together they raised three children. Ray enjoyed his long retirement years with his loving family and his numerous coffee buddies and friends. Ray was predeceased by his parents; three sisters Irene Urick (Fred), Ramona Weyland, and Hilda Yungwirth (Ralph); two brothers Clarence and Gilbert as well as many other extended family members. Ray will be remembered with deep love by his wife of 58 years, Kathy; daughters Donna Velmer (Don), Sharon Butler, and son Curtis (Amy). He will be forever loved and cherished as "PAPA" by his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his two twin sisters Marlene Jaeb (Irvin) and Darlene Abday (Donald); brother-in-law Elmer Weyland and numerous nieces, nephews and many other extended family members and longtime friends. A special thanks goes to Papa's "Bug" for all her extra love and help. The family would also like to thank Dr. Raymond and Dr. Bohn and the caring staff on 6F of the Regina General Hospital.
