Rebecca Churchill Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 9, 2021.
Rebecca Jean "Becky" Churchill, age 42, passed away the evening of Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Md.

Becky attended Iroquois Sr. High School and received her GED. She was engaged to Timothy Nicholson, Jr. Becky enjoyed spending time with her fiancé, family and friends, during which times, you could find her at a camp by a fire, singing her favorite karaoke songs or shooting darts with her friends competitively, as it was one of her passions. As a proud mom, Becky also enjoyed watching and cheering on her sons play football and basketball. She was also a fan of the Miami Dolphins. Becky loved spending as much time as she could with her grandbabies.

Becky was preceded in death by her mother, Sylvia Carrier; and her daughter, Josephine Rizzo.

She is survived by her children, Desiree Palmer (Brian), Jonathan Churchill, Isaac Churchill, and Jolessa Paterniti (Dominic); her grandchildren, Dylan, Lucas, Alyx, and Vincenzo; her father, Michael Rizzo (Martha); her siblings, Jen Bestvina (Brian), Chris Walker (Dorothy), Josh Rizzo, Matt Rizzo, Tammy Reeves (Dave) and several stepsiblings.

Becky was a rockstar and an inspiration to all who knew her. She was an amazing woman who was always there for the people she loved whenever she possibly could be.

Friends will be received at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. James R.C. Church on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. The Mass will be available to watch on Facebook at the "Saint James Roman Catholic Church" page. A private interment will be held for Becky's family at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.

I miss that smile. You would smile and everything was okay. I miss your laugh. I just miss you. Our time together was too short. You would be so proud of your kids. They are amazing individuals and Jen has stepped in and been such an amazing support to them. Love you.

Weeks pass, then years, and the grief changes but missing you is just as strong. I want to text you, call you, or just hug you one more time. Please know I am taking care of your brother, you would be proud of the man he is. I love you sis.

Becky is my niece and my Goddaughter. She is also my youngest brother's youngest daughter. As we grieve this tragic loss, we will clearly remember her full of life and laughter as a loving mother of four, a proud grandparent, the spunky sibling and one of the finest ladies we have ever known. Right now my heart is broken for all the family members dealing with her passing. To them I ask, remember the love this child brought to our world. Remember the joy she brought to all who knew her. `And most important of all, remember the strength and courage she shared with us during the life and death battle she faced while so far from home. She has left us, but is with her mom and many loving family members who adored her. Rest in Peace.

Love always,
Uncle Matt

Becky, I miss you. When I married Chris, I remember you said you were so excited to have another sister and you always treated me as such. You loved life! You could frustrate me and then smile, and once again I would remember why I loved you so much. Even when I sat with you at Hamot for chemo, the conversation was always about your kids or other loved ones. I still can't believe you gone. I've stayed strong for Chris, but it hurts. I will see you again one day, and I will miss you everyday till then. Love, Dorothy.
