Rebecca Jones Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 6, 2025.
Rebecca Jane "Granny" Jones, 68, passed away on March 1, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on May 3, 1956, in Chillicothe, Ohio.

Rebecca was a woman of immense kindness and generosity, known for her caring and selfless nature. She dedicated much of her life to nurturing those around her, always putting others before herself. Whether it was through her love of caring for children or simply being a comforting presence to those who needed her, she left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.

She found joy in the simple pleasures of life-fishing by the water's edge, spending time with loved ones, and watching her favorite shows. These moments brought her happiness and created cherished memories for those who knew her best.

Rebecca is survived by her daughter Roxanne Wilson and son-in-law Jason Wilson; her sons Roger Detty, Richard Detty, and Nelson Jones; her siblings Betty Betts, David Betts, Shelly Butterbaugh, and Melissa Butterbaugh, and 14 beloved grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother Alberta E. "Maggie" Betts; her father Everett Butterbaugh; her husband Randolph (Randy) Jones; her son Rusty Jones; and her brothers James Betts and Tim Butterbaugh.

Granny was loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

You were an amazing lady, Granny. You took care of my children when I was working and then talked me into becoming a child care provider like you & I did so for seven years. I am so thankful for being blessed to have you in our lives. We lost touch after we moved away from Chillicothe, but we have never forgot you. Thank you for all that you did. We will always love you. Rest in peace young lady, your work here is done. Your family and friends are in our prayers.

You were the most caring person. You spent most of your life caring for others. You exemplified how Jesus wants us all to be. You had a huge heart and was always willing to help anyone that needed it. You will be missed by so many
