Ruthie Whitmore (Schroth)
January 17, 2013
Dick Bowker was my mother's first cousin. During my youth, after his mother passed, he and his father, Loxley, spent every Christmas with us. We visited infrequently while his father was still alive, but didn't see him after that. Dick and I kept in touch via Christmas cards. His was always the first to arrive, always with a picture of a trolley.
To those who were closer to him, thank you for being his friend. He was very special to my mother, Doris Schroth (Rowand). Her mother (Ruth), my grandmother was a Bowker.

My world is not going to be the same without you, Dick. I'm going to miss your stories about the 2 New York World's Fairs. You always told me you went to West View for the coasters, but you went to Kennywood for the park!
