RICHARD W. "DICK" BROCKWELL

BROCKWELL, Richard W. "Dick" Sr., 72, of Emporia, Virginia, Lake Gaston and Emerald Isle, N.C., died suddenly on Thursday, December 27, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Brenda B. Brockwell; three sons, Richard W. "Dwayne" Brockwell Jr. and his wife, Gin, of Midlothian, P. Heath Brockwell and his wife, Sasha, of Atlantic Beach, Fla., Kent J. Brockwell and his wife, Sarah, of Midlothian; three stepchildren, Stephanie S. Rawlings and her husband, Jeff, John and Jenny Sykes; 12 grandchildren, Richard W. "Tripp" Brockwell III, Blake Alexander, Alexandra, Heath Jr. and Philippa Brockwell, J. P. Clifford, Bonnie Sue Brockwell, Justin Watkins and Seth Ryan Rawlings, Mckayla, Haley and Aaliyah Rogers; his brother, Chris P. Brockwell and his wife, Debra, of Gasburg Va.; nieces and nephew, Stevi Brockwell and Kristi Carter and her husband, Billy, and Paul Brockwell. Mr. Brockwell was the retired owner of B&W Bandag Inc., Brock's Car Care, Brockwell International and Brockwell Truck Leasing. He was an avid Harley enthusiast and a member of the Emerald Isle Beach Patrol. The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Main Street Baptist Church, 440 S. Main St., Emporia, Va., where the funeral service will also be held 3 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, contributions could be made to the Emporia Volunteer Fire Department, where he was an honorary fireman, Emporia-Greensville Rescue Squad or the Gasburg Volunteer Fire Department. Williams Funeral Home, Lawrenceville, is in charge of arrangements.
