Dr. Richard "Dick" Golinko, former Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Joan Golinko, and their three daughters, Lori Black (her late husband Bret and partner Steven Lurie), Nancy Krawitz (Paul), and Susan Bard (Michael). He was a devoted grandfather to seven cherished grandchildren Brian (Daria), Gael, Jordan, Kelly (David), Caroline (Jake), Philip, Isabelle, and great-grandson Brody. Dr. Golinko was a very proud Cornell University alum (class of '52). As an internationally respected pediatric cardiologist, Dr. Golinko dedicated his career to improving the lives of children and adults with congenital heart disease and mentoring the next generation of physicians. He will be remembered for his medical leadership, warmth, and unwavering optimism. The funeral will be held at 12pm on Tuesday July 29 at Star Of David Memorial Chapel, 1236 Wellwood Ave, West Babylon, NY. Burial will be at Beth Moses Jewish Cemetery,1500 Wellwood Ave, West Babylon, NY 11704. Shiva will follow from 3-7pm at The Atria at Roslyn Harbor,100 Landing Road, Roslyn, NY 11576. Shiva will also be held at the Bard family home from 5-8pm on Thursday July 31st. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association and The Children's Heart Foundation.

Dr. Golinko was my mentor and colleague and launched my pediatric cardiology career.He was an outstanding clinician, teacher and leader in our field. He impacted thousands of patients, students and physicians. My sincerest condolences to the entire family.
