Rick and I grew up together. We lived across the street from each other beginning in 1955. Our parents were Polish, so of course we hung out. Rick was a great sports enthusiast. Hockey, football, baseball, he loved it all. We both learned to skate on "the Pond". At that time there were orchards all around us, and a pond a 100 yards away. Rick was a natural. Me, not so much. We would throw a football, or baseball around. We rode our bikes. Our first taste of freedom. Then came high school. Music, dances, parties, motorcycles, cars - fun ! Maybe a drink or two. We were close into our early 20's. Then, as life can take you, we moved down separate paths. Over the years we bumped into each other, but fewer, and fewer as time went on. Distance played a part. So did family and work commitments. A couple of months ago, I had a feeling that I should call Rick. Unfortunately, I didn't. Now, it's too late. Myrna my deepest condolences to you and your family.

My Dear Uncle Rick,
I wish we could have been closer, however I will always remember when I I got you to join my baseball team. We had quite a few laughs and good times, which I will remember fondly as long as I can. You were somewhat of a mentor to me, although I didn't have a chance to share that with you. I could always count on a good story with a message from you every time I saw you. I treasured my time spent with you, and you will be missed by me and everyone that appreciated you.
Love Billy (As you affectionately called me)
PS I'm sorry Aunt Myrna for your loss, & hope you feel better sooner than later. Take care.
