POWELL, Richard Allen born March 27, 1930 in Owensboro Kentucky, was called to be with the Lord on January 20th 2009. Survivors include sister Patricia Ann Hoelscher of Orlando, FL; three sons, Richard Allen Powell Jr. & wife Beth, of Arlington TX, Daniel Keith Powell & wife Kelley, of Olive Branch, MS and Andy Lee Powell & wife Dana, of Sarasota, FL. Richard was a wonderful loving grandfather to Carmen Cronon, Richard Allen Powell III, Chelsea Powell and Mathew Powell and a great-grandfather to Ryan, Amanda, Nathan and Ashlyn. Richard served in the United States Marine Corp from 1948 to 1952 and was retired from NCR after 46 years of service. He was also a member of the VFW and the Eagles. Dad will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm, Tuesday, January 27, (TODAY) at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Burial to follow at Dayton National Cemetery at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 am until time of service.
