RICHARD KENNETH SELINGER

Richard Kenneth Selinger, also known as "Fuzzy" to his close friends and family, passed away at the Hospice House in Joliet, Illinois. His long battle with cancer came to end on December 27th, 2015 and he is now at peace.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Irene Selinger nee Sarcletti, his son, Michael Selinger and his two daughters, Laurie Heidbreder and husband John, Susan Kezele and husband Brian. Richard also has five grandchildren: Dustin Caley, Abigail Selinger, Isaac Selinger, Rylan Kezele and Brycen Kezele.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Gertrude Selinger as well as his brother, Terrance Selinger.

Richard worked as a butcher in various places in Joliet and he then later worked in maintenance at Will County Sheriffs Department, retiring from both. Richard was a long-time member of the Irving Athletic Club, and enjoyed playing cards. Along with working hard, Richard also enjoyed many sports. He loved the Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, and Cubs and many times could be found watching a game in any room in the house. But most of all, Richard loved spending his time with his grandchildren and would take every opportunity to make memories with them.

In accordance with Richard's wishes, arrangements will be private, and the family will have a memorial dinner at a later date. In lieu of flowers or memorial donations, the family suggests sharing with loved ones the sentiments so often thought of after a loved one has passed.
