Richard Thomas Obituary
Rick was born January 9,1955. He worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer with the soldiers at Fort Lee, the student athletes at Blue Stone High School in Clarksville VA as well being the Athletic Trainer for the Richmond Generals hockey team, Richmond Kickers soccer team and the Richmond Renegades and Riverdogs hockey teams.
He was a loving husband, dad and grandpa who enjoyed playing tennis, cycling (he built and refurbished numerous bikes),kayaking,hiking, working in his garden and being with his puppies. He loved anything that meant he could be with his family. His grandchildren, Finley and Bowen, were the focus of his life.
Rick is survived by his wife of 38 years, Karen; children Daniel (Monica), Lauren Berube (Ryan) and Matthew (Jessie), grandchildren, siblings Steve, Mary and Kathy and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a local animal shelter or the Richmond Maymont Foundation.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held in Clarksville, VA at a later date.
