Richard Lee Tompkins

EASTON - Richard Lee Tompkins, 56, died Monday night, June 29, 2009, at his residence. He was born May 1, 1953, in Fort Fairfield, son of Murray and Alberta (Good) Tompkins. Richard worked for McCain Foods, Easton, before retiring due to his illness. He loved to fish, hunt and work in his vegetable garden. He is survived by his mother, Alberta Bird of Fort Fairfield; his wife, Debbie Tompkins of Easton; a son, Trent and his wife, Britany and grandson, Brayson Matthew Tompkins, all of Presque Isle; three brothers and their wives, John and Tammy Tompkins of Easton, Sam and Darlene Tompkins of Tennessee, Tony and Tammy Tompkins of New York; four sisters, Marie Holmes of Presque Isle, Glenna Tompkins and her companion, John Parlin, of Easton, Dianne John and her husband, Bob, of Tennessee, and Kimberly Tompkins of Arizona; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Muriel and Arnold Durost; a sister-in-law, Laura Ward and her husband, Russell; a brother-in-law, Merritt Durost and his wife, Amanda; a brother-in-law, Brandon Durost, all of Presque Isle; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father; and a brother, Fred Tompkins. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 3, at Easton Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Matthew Maxwell and the Rev. Merritt Durost officiating. Relatives and friends may call noon until time of service at the church. Interment will be at Pine Tree Cemetery, Easton.
