Richard Wilson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 1, 2025.
Richard "Rick" Wilson, age 53, passed away on May 25, 2025, in Ruskin, Florida. Born on July 27, 1971, in Howell, Michigan, Rick lived a life marked by deep passions, unwavering kindness, and a heart that embraced everyone he met.

Rick was the beloved son of Kathryn Wilson and the late Clyde (Rick) Wilson. He is survived by his cherished son Layne Wilson; his brothers Paul Wilson (Heather) and Andrew Wilson (Lauren); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles whom he dearly loved. His family meant so much to him, and he held each member close with a love that was tender.

From an early age, Rick's life was infused with music-a constant force that shaped his spirit and brought joy to those around him. Whether strumming his guitar alone at home or performing with bands throughout his adult life, music was more than a hobby; it was an extension of who he was. His melodies echoed not only through rooms but also through hearts.

Rick had a remarkable ability to immerse himself fully in whatever captured his interest. He approached each new passion with enthusiasm and depth-whether it was playing disc golf under open skies, nurturing vibrant saltwater aquariums teeming with life, or delving into the roots of his heritage through thoughtful research. Nature walks with his wife Cindy were among his most treasured moments-quiet times filled with connection and reflection.

Above all else, Rick cherished the time spent with his son Layne. Their bond was profound and enduring-a relationship built on love, laughter, and shared experiences that will live on in Layne's heart forever.

Those who knew Rick remember him as patient, gentle, and kind-a man who wore his big heart openly. He had a gift for lightening any moment with humor and silliness while offering deep empathy to those who needed it most. If you met Rick once and shared a laugh or story with him, he treated you like an old friend from that day forward.

His unique way of loving left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to be part of his world. That spirit will continue to ripple outward in the lives he touched.

May your silly and loving spirit live on in the lives you have been a part of. You will be so greatly missed and remembered forever. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 4, 2025, from 03:00 PM to 08:00 PM at Aubree's Pizzeria & Grill 8031 Main St . Dexter, MI. RIP Rick. Here is one I took of you and the guys in the band sometime in the early 2000´s. We played on a hay wagon in a barn for a couple hundred people that night. Thanks for sharing music with me that I never knew existed, and jamming. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Rick and family rest well in God´s care. Ricky, as I knew him and will always remember him as such when attending RBA in Pinckney, and Hiawatha Beach Church in Hamburg. My condolences to both the Wilson family and Cindy´s family. So sorry for your great loss.

So sorry to hear about the traffic accident. I knew Rick as Ricky back in the 3rd grade when I started RBA. When I changed schools in 7th grade once again we were in the same class but he was now known as Rick

Praying for the Wilson family.

I'll miss my bf/ coworker, he would tell me just about anything and I would as well. He was a great person to be around, he had the ability to make you feel good and would help you anyway he could.

So sad. I'm empty. You will be missed! Layne and my son Dane were close friends for quite some time. Rick and I shared in our membership of the dad club. And we shared some common experiences that were hard as hell but allowed us to move on to the next step. Godspeed brother!
