Rick Shoemaker, age 48 of Peebles, passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Wilmington on Sept. 24, 1965 and
was preceded in death by his father, Earl Shoemaker.
Rick attended Portsmouth United Church of God and was a member of the NRA.
He is survived by his mother, Becky (Houchen) Shoemaker of Peebles, his wife whom he married on July 5, 1986, Carol (Williams) Shoemaker of Peebles; two sons and daughter-in-law, Randy and Ingrid Shoemaker of Utah and Joseph Shoemaker of Peebles; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah and Scott Howard of Peebles and Lee Ann and Aaron Wells of Cincinnati; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry and Kim Shoemaker of Peebles and Dan and Nancy Shoemaker of Peebles; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth Ann and Gene Newman of Peebles, Glenna and Jim Cochran of Chillicothe, Betty Shoemaker of Flemingsburg, Ky., Janet and Melvin Plank of Flemingsburg, Ky., and Peggy and Cecil Dupree of Peebles; and one granddaughter, Lily Howard.
Memorial services will be held today at the GE Employee Park from 6-8 p.m. with Minister Frank Dunkle Officiating. Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles is in charge of the arrangements.
