Dear Richard,
My eyes are filled with tears and my hands tremble as I type these words. I did not know your son nor do I know you very well- Yet, the story I just read of your most tragic loss is heavy on my heart. I like you am the proud father of two sons. They and their sister are my biggest achievement. From what I read it is very apparent you and Nikki raised two very fine young men. Ricky was surrounded by people who adored and loved him. There are no words, no explanation that can take away your pain. All we have is the hope of tomorrow. May the love that surrounds you in this tumultuous time be with you forever. I will pray for you.

Dear Richard, Nikki, and Jason,
My heart is hurting so much for you all right now. Ricky was truly an amazing person. Everyone who knew him loved him and I feel blessed to have known him so well. He was witty, charming, so unbelievably strong, and very kind. We travelled Europe together in grade 11 and I fell for him instantly. I loved watching his football games and I always admired your entire family for supporting him so much in what he loved to do.
His smile will continue to light up this world as he will never ever be forgotten. May you find comfort in all the love that surrounds you and in knowing that Ricky and Roxanne are together again. My thoughts are with you. xox

Dear Nikki, Richard & Jason,
Words cannot convey my sympathy to you all. I cannot fathom such a great loss as yours. It was a bitter sweet re acquaintance under such terrible circumstances. Thirty years is a lifetime but Nikki your eyes still sparkle as I remember. Richard, you are still the soft spoken gentleman I recall. Jason, you are without doubt, the product of the two beautiful people who, through eternal love have raised you to be an outstanding young man. I only wish I had met Ricky. I'm sure he would have had some great stories such as your uncle Rick and I spun back in the day. Through all of this, I have learned to cherish my own loved ones more each passing day. No moments should ever be wasted.
God Bless

Nikki, Richard and Jason,
There are no words to express how sad we feel for the loss of your son, brother, friend. Never in a million years did we ever think we would be writing to you today for this huge loss. We cannot imagine the pain you are suffering internally, but we want you to know that we are hurting too as Ricky was a special man with a truly magnetic personality.
Everything said about him over the last few days is so very true. He was a remarkable, genuine person with so much to live for and offer. I wish his time with us would have been longer to learn from him and share with him.
Jason, we want you to know that we will always be there for you. I have come to realize over the years that those who do not have sibilings have many friends and sometimes fail to realize how much they care about us. Know that we care about you and seeing you cry with so much pain hurt us both terribly.
Words cannot express how much we love and respect you all. You are truly an amazing family.
Keep strong and let us pray together for Ricky. Afterall, he is not alone he is with Roxanne.

Ricky was a man of outstanding character that went well beyond his twenty two years. He was quick to smile and was always a joy to be around. I was very honored and fortunate to have been able to coach him on the football field but I was blessed to have known him off the field. My dearest baby, I am so very sorry it took so long to find you, you suffered so much. My heart will never stop aching, you were an amazing man. A magnet that drew people close together. My hero. You were a natural leader, What can I say that could make this tragedy simpler to understand!! We all had the greatest admiration for you Ricky and what you stood for. You were free, an athlete, a unique person that always knew what you wanted and went for it. Loyal and trustworthy, honest, kind, there are not enough words in my head right now. It’s too hard, this is not fair. As we all know, life throws us many obstacles that we have to overcome and try to understand. Why now, why this, why to me, or why to us. Will we ever understand? You are a hard person to measure up to, you set the bar high just like we taught you. I’ve always admired you and will never stop. We did good. We were the most blessed parents and Jason had the best brother ever, his pain is so hard, give him strength, He still needs you. We all hurt so much. I will miss our football discussions, so funny how we share that. Now you left us Vito to help us deal with this horrible pain, our hearts are shattered to pieces, what do we do baby. We are consumed by grief, it’s overwhelming. Now we must make you proud one more time, baby, I will hold you in heaven, wait for me with Roxy. Now rest in peace. Sleep baby, sleep, I love you forever. Mom xoxoxoxo

There is no words we can think off at this time that can bring you comfort too such tragedy, please know that you are in our prayers. I hope you can found some small comfort on this famous poem.
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush

Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
